Mandawa, founded in 1756, is an authentic small town in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan that folds you in its traditional & rural life. It’s also famous as the open-art gallery of rajasthan where each step uncovers unique architecture and vibrant mural paintings painted on the walls of mandawa. Beautiful frescoes & magnificent havelis are the heart of mandawa.
During 12th century Mandawa was the trading outpost for ancient caravan routes in Sekhawati region for goods from china & Middle east. Then Thaklur Nawal singh, the ruler of Nawalgarh & Mandawa built fort to protect this outpost which over the time grew & attracted a large community of traders who settled in Mandawa.

Don’t miss the Heritage Walk, where you’ll see the Silk Route-era mansions known as Havelis. Mandawa is definetly the hidden gem of Rajasthan. If you love quite & peace & want to explore rich cultural heritage then Mandawa is must visit.
