Mathura is the birthplace of Lord Krishna, a major deity in Hinduism. Mathura & vrindawan often considered as twin cities which are located 10 km apart. Mathura’s one side is stretched across Yamuna River which have many ghats where you can witness local tourists & devotees taking holy dip in the river to attain salvation & was of their sins.
Mathura has many temples & most of these are dedicated of Lord Krishna & famous attraction is Shri Krishna Janambhumi temple which is the spot for where Lord Krishna is believed to be born. Mathura is famous for its vibrant festivals especially janmastami (Krishna’s birth) which occurs in August/September & Holi in February/March which is celebrated as a grand occasion & with great enthusiasm which attract thousands of pilgrims worldwide.
