Famous as the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, Srinagar lies in the Kashmir Valley & on the banks of Jhelum River which is a tributary of Indus River. It has lush green gardens, lakes & houseboats which makes it more beautiful. It has amazing Kashmiri handicrafts & famous dried fruits.
Apart from Udaipur it has also been called as “Venice of East” because of the lakes all around the city including Dal Lake which have several Houseboats, Nigeen Lake, Manasbal Lake & Wular Lake which is the largest freshwater lake in Asia.
It also has Mughal Gardens, Chashma Shahi, Pari Mahal, Nishat bagh, Shalimar Bagh & Jwaharlal Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden.
